Annual Review 2022/2023

Updated: Dec 8, 2023

We were very excited to showcase our work on Friday 1st of December at our first Annual Review event since 2019. Carers, staff and volunteers did an amazing job presenting stories highlighting various aspects of our work at SCC. As well as straightforward talking, we incorporated video, poetry and rap to present the voice of Carers and encapsulate this year's theme: 'Community'.

Attendees included representatives from #CarersTrust, #SuttonCouncil, Mental Health Trust, VCS colleagues, MP Paul Scully and our former and current Carers Champions, Marlene Heron and Councillor Paul Cole respectively. We were also joined by pupils and teachers from local primary, All Saint's Benhilton, and secondary school, Harris Sutton.

On the head table, CEO Rachael MacLeod, Chair Harsha Ganatra and Treasurer Andy McCreddie were joined by LB Sutton Mayor Colin Stears.

A Young Carer from Harris Academy Sutton joined the Mayor in presenting flowers on behalf of Sutton Carers Centre to Marlene Heron for her many years of unrelenting commitment as our Carers Champion.

Our second major presentation was by Heather Cowan, London Youth Membership Development Officer, who presented Julia Kerr, Sutton Young Carers Service Manager, with the London Youth Quality Mark Bronze Award which we are really proud of!

The whole event was a great success and we'd like to thank everyone who attended, support us and have provided such amazing feedback. If you'd like to get involved with Sutton Carers Centre, please get in touch, we'd love to hear from you.
