Carer tips, support and social isolation


  • SMHF Coffee Zoom Meeting on Xmas day 10.30 -11.30am and mindfulness on Teams on boxing day 12-1. Click here for more information.

  • If you are online, lots of information, tips and support is available through Mobilise and if you are alone this Christmas, you can join their annual Christmas Cuppa online.

If you can't access online events, there may be something happening locally to you, for example Trinity Church in Wallington have their annual Christmas dinner which you can find out more about here.


While we are closed for the holidays, you can find lots of useful information on our website, and also:

  • chat online to other Carers on the Carers UK forum

  • call the Carers UK recorded information line anytime on 0800 888 6999

  • call the Carers UK Helpline 9am-6pm Monday to Friday including bank holidays on 0808 808 7777

  • check Food Bank details here.

  • view opening times and contact our partner services via Together for Sutton online or by calling 020 8254 2616

  • call Age UK Sutton, 27-29th December 9.30am-4.30pm on 020 8078 0002

  • contact Citizens Advice online where referrals will be monitored and urgent online referrals responded to

  • visit the Crisis Cafe which is open every night, 365 days a year, from 6:30pm until 11pm.

  • about a child, contact Sutton’s Children’s First Contact Services (CFCS) on 020 8770 6001, or 020 8770 5000 for out-of-hours service.

  • about an adult, contact Sutton Council Referral Point which is open during office hours 020 8770 6080 and the out-of-hours Duty number for urgent issues is 020 8770 6001 or 0208 770 5000.

  • Mental Health Crisis Line - 0800 028 8000 if things are becoming too much and they can help and support

  • NHS - 111 can help you if you’re not sure which service to use.  Speak to a trained adviser, supported by experienced nurses and paramedics, who can help you with health information and provide reassurance about what to do next.  In an emergency, you can call 999. 

  • Text SHOUT to 85258 for support day or night.
